**Position Summary**:
The Seafood Production Manager oversees Intercity Packers Seafood production department at our **Richmond, BC **location.

**Position**:Full-Time, Permanent
**Schedule**:Mon-Fri, 6:00am - 2:30pm
**Salary**:From 70,000 per year plus bonus, based on experience

**Essential Functions**:

- Develops and implements policies and procedures for various production activities including verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and maintenance of a current inventory.
- Manages and oversees production yields and labour usage.
- Performs inspections of physical condition of production area and equipment. Prepares work orders for repairs or requisitions for replacement of equipment.
- Collaborates with department heads in the coordination of activities with other functions including sales, QA, logistics, and purchasing.
- Directs salvage of damaged or used material.
- Collaborates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.
- Interview, hire, train, and retain staff. Conducts performance monitoring of staff, initiating follow through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department. Mentors, motivates, and develops staff and acts as a role model and resource to them.
- Develops capital and operational budget for the department. Routinely monitors, analyzes variances and takes appropriate action and develops plans for productivity improvements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Knowledge / Skills / Abilities**:

- Must have good written, verbal, organizational and communication skills as well as problem-solving capabilities.
- Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be able to work independently or within a team environment.
- Must be able to perform fundamental mathematical functions.
- Must be able to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity and reference policies and practices for guidance.

**Minimum Years of Experience**:

- At least 3 years of experience as either a production or warehouse manager at another processing plant/company.
