Driver, Furniture

RGO is recruiting for an experienced Driver for our installations team. This role will deliver furniture products to various customer sites in a prompt and safe manner. Available and able to drive 5 ton truck as relief for vacations, sick leave, or as otherwise required. May also include minor installations, coordination and execution of small moves and other customer services.

**Responsibilities**:
**Deliveries**
- Responsible for picking and loading product for delivery to customers’ locations. Check racks, complete bingo-ing and ensure that truck is completely and properly loaded prior to leaving RGO’s dock
- Exercise sufficient care and attention so as to ensure the product arrives and is placed in a satisfactory manner
- Demonstrate sufficient product knowledge so as to make the installation complete and functional
- Interact with the customer in a professional manner
- Determine whether product for delivery is free from any defects or damage prior to departure from RGO and notify the warehouse supervisor, furniture dispatch supervisor or installation supervisor of any defects
- Assemble desks and work stations

**Management**
- When driving, ensure that the use of the vehicle is maximized and that the Furniture Dispatch Supervisor has scheduled a proper load time frame for execution
- Employ the most efficient routes when delivering products

**Reporting**
- When driving, ensure that the piece count is correct when leaving RGO and that all deliveries are signed for at the customer’s site
- Responsible for submitting all paperwork, such as time records, POE’s, and Return Goods Receipts related to the delivery and pick up of items
- Ensure that timesheets are filled out daily and accurately and are handed in daily

**Resource Management**
- Health and Safety - Promote and follow all Health & Safety Initiatives
- Ensure that the trucks are maintained in good working order and that problems are dealt with in a prompt and efficient manner
- Ensure the truck cab and box are maintained in an orderly fashion (fold blankets, roll up straps, etc.)
- Ensure that equipment such as dollies is accounted for and in good working condition

**Qualifications**:

- Clean driver’s abstract for at least 12 months
- 3 years experience driving1-5 tonne trucks
- Mechanical competency to ensure RGO truck is in good driving condition
- Experience driving in downtown core
- AMA Professional Driver Upgrade (prior to driving any RGO vehicle)
- Proof of full immunization against COVID-19 is required upon hire
