**Geerlinks Home Hardware Building Centre & Design Gallery** **_Retail / Warehouse Associate_** - Warehousing Department **PRIMARY FUNCTION/OBJECTIVE** Geerlinks Home Hardware Building Centre & Design Gallery (‘GHHBC’) is currently seeking a Warehousing & Stock Associate. The primary function of this role is to support our Warehouse in a professional and presentable way while periodically greeting and engaging customers with a welcoming and friendly rapport. You will support our valued customers by supporting your colleagues through the upkeep, organization, and cleanliness of our Warehouse. You will review product selection and stock levels with Leadership in order to support efficient storage and retrieval of product for our Sales & Support teams while they focus on the customers experience and sales opportunities. You will also support your team, department, and the store through reviewing, planning, and managing the receiving of incoming stock and coordinating the appropriate storage space required while ensuring proper procedures are followed and documentation is done and processed consistently. This is followed by collaborating with your colleagues and Leadership to review upcoming orders and incoming stock to coordinate and plan accordingly for the smooth flow of product in and out of our Warehouse. Flexibility with scheduled workdays and shift preference is required. **DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES** - Actively offer a friendly greeting throughout the entire store - Represent Home Hardware in a presentable and professional way - Assist your colleagues and Leadership with questions on product information, stock availability, and stock level verification - Organize, maintain, and upkeep a safe and efficient warehouse by coordinating and categorizing like-products (among other strategies) to maximize the use of storage space and the smooth retrieval of product - Perform housekeeping duties throughout the department and general area - Assemble displays and stock and set up merchandise - Treat all employees with respect. - Create a memorable and informative experience for the customer - Be accessible to colleagues for questions and guidance where necessary - Actively maintain open and clear communication with key staff and leaders who support the planning, ordering, and delivery of incoming and outgoing products - Support and contribute to an environment that encourages high employee productivity and morale - Maintain safety training certifications annually or as advised - Set a good example by always following company policies and procedures - Adhere to quality and customer service standards set forth by GHHBC - Participate and represent store in local community events - Work in a safe manner in accordance with provincial and federal safety legislation, as well as use of good common sense. - Report any potential hazards and unsafe behavior to management - Work on additional duties and assignments as assigned by the Management team and General Manager. **EDUCATION/SKILLS REQUIRED** - 2+ years of prior retail, warehousing, or industry related experience is beneficial - Possess a high regard for safety in the workplace - Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted - Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays - Ability to understand computer software programs which support the role - Excellent communication skills - A ‘can-do’ attitude with a desire and willingness to learn is an asset - Willingness to continually develop professional skills and knowledge base with company support - Willingness to participate in seminars, webinars, training sessions and meetings to expand knowledge and skillset - Ability to work cooperatively in team atmosphere **WORKING RELATIONSHIPS** - Reports directly to Warehouse Supervisor > General Manager > Owners. **LOCATION** Geerlinks Home Hardware Building Centre & Design Gallery 295 Wellington Street, St. Thomas **Job Type**: Part-time Part-time hours: 30 per week **Salary**: $15.50-$17.00 per hour **Benefits**: - Company events - Discounted or free food - Employee assistance program - Flexible schedule - On-site parking - Store discount - Wellness program Schedule: - Day shift - Monday to Friday - Night shift - Weekend availability COVID-19 considerations: All customers are required to wear a mask, curbside pickup available, common surfaces are sanitized regularly. **Experience**: - Warehouse: 1 year (preferred) - Retail: 1 year (preferred) Work Location: In person
