**The Company**:
Polar Sapphire Ltd. is a manufacturer of high purity aluminum oxide powder (alumina) with a factory located in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.

Our innovative manufacturing process focuses on improving yields and reducing total cost of ownership for our customers.

We combine hydrometallurgy and pyrometallurgy to perform purification at a lower temperature and with less power, thereby reducing costs and improving the consistency of our product’s purity.

**The Role**:
The role leads the day to day operation of the organization’s supply chain operation. Developing our supply chain strategy, as well as planning, coordinating and directing activities to efficiently serve customers. This role is critical as we start to scale up our new production facility in Oakville.

Responsibilities include:

- Collaboratively planning, forecasting, ordering, scheduling of all critical components (direct materials) to support production
- Scheduling of materials required by operations to meet daily, weekly, monthly and annual production targets to meet customer demands
- Management of inventory and consumables, including but not limited to setting min/max levels, cycle counts, and year-end counts.
- Purchasing as required of direct, indirect materials, capex and supplies
- Identify new suppliers, agree terms, and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate, including discount structure, volume rebates and shipping costs
- Continually improve purchasing methods and drive down external spending
- Analyzing and building relationships with all critical suppliers including keeping scorecards on performance
- Integration with company ERP, MES, MRP systems and designing transaction processes as needed
- Receiving and shipping processes and their execution
- Inspection and acceptance of materials
- Managing logistics

PREPARATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
- BS, or advanced degree in supply chain management, or BBA/BComm
- 5+ year experience in manufacturing, with progressively increasing responsibilities
- Background and demonstrated utilization of Lean and Six Sigma methodology is considered an asset
- Track record of being accountable and holding others accountable
- Well versed in Incoterms and international logistics terminology

- Must be able to lead and supervise others
- Organized and methodical in approach
- Familiarity with contracts
- Excellent communication, drive, and decision-making skills
- Familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Negotiation skills, Process and Procedure Oriented
