**Job Summary** The Companion is a “Friend at Home” front line health care aide worker position acting as a representative of iCare Home Heath and providing the services offered by the company for our clients. The Companion will mostly work independently of co-workers or supervisors and therefore must balance good judgment and initiative along with the policies of the company. The Companion will be required to maintain a safe working environment for themselves and their clients. **Responsibilities and Duties** The following list is a guideline of possible duties to be performed independently or as a group of duties in the course of working with the client.The Companion "Friend at Home" duties are not limited to those listed. - Supervision for Safety, Friendship and Companionship. One of the most important aspects of iCare Home Health will be providing clients with a strong sense of self-esteem and independence. - Taking a genuine interest in the client, their life and their environment will help create a true sense of companionship. Whether it is playing a favourite board game or card game, reading, taking a stroll or visiting with friends and neighbours, companionship provides the depth of our services. Shift Hours: 2:00pm-4:00pm. **Qualifications and Skills** 1. Compassionate, optimistic, patient and caring nature. 2. Police Criminal Reference Check. 3. Dementia Care training and experience is an asset. 4. Well versed in current affairs, politics and world news for conversation purposes. 5. Ability to work independently. 6. Excellent communication and listening skills. 7. Must be physically and mentally fit to handle the demands of care giving. 8.
