**Forklift Operator / Material Handler**

Permanent full-time position

Work schedule: Monday to Thursday, 15h15 to 01h45

**Salary**: 21.21$ (19,01$ base + 1,20$ lift premium + 1$ shift premium)

Vacation / paid leave: 4% (2 weeks’ vacation), 3 personal days

**Role and responsibilities**

According to production needs, the **Forklift Operator **performs a variety of tasks to support the operation, as follows:

- Loading /unloading freight.
- Move product between departments by operating manual or mechanical equipment (forklift, Reach, pallet jack, handcart).
- Material handling (order picking, staging).
- Shipping/Receiving documentation. Verification of shipments’ accuracy. Report discrepancies/damages.
- Inventory control, system updates, cycle counts, and use of mobile bar code scanners.
- Maintain safe and clean environment.

**Required knowledge and experience**
- High school diploma and experience in a similar role is an asset
- Valid forklift license (in-house certification or from an outside training company)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with Counterbalance and Reach lift trucks
- Experience with scissor lifts and fall arrest equipment (an asset)
- Experience with bar code scanners and electronic inventory management using a tablet or PC (an asset)
- Capacity to learn how to read/understand drawings/specifications. Proficiency with taking exact measurements (metric/imperial).

**Required skills and abilities**
- Exhibit safe work ethics is a must, as having a positive, engaged contributor style attitude and communications
- Quick learner with technical aspects of work and with production equipment
- Organization skills, detail-oriented and quality-conscious

**Other requirements**

The position requires walking and standing. Some tasks may require bending, kneeling, reaching, as well as work outside and inside.
