We are looking for a reliable Journeyman Carpenter to join our branch in Fort Saskatchewan Alberta. This a full-time, temporary opportunity (6-months) with the potential to extension.
The Journeyman Carpenter is accountable for constructing, renovating, erecting, and repairing of buildings made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials within our 25-acre laydown/storage yard. Forklift and Loader operator tickets are an asset. Training will be available.
What Else You Get To Do:
- Build house framework, walls, roof, exterior and interior finishes
- Install doors, windows, flooring, cabinets, stairs, handrails, paneling, molding, and ceiling tiles
- Repair and remodel existing structures of all kinds
- Jack, block, and level modular units, Cut and shape materials and join them
- Read and interpret drawings.
- Select materials, plan sequences and methods of work, and measure and mark materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions.
- Check completed units to ensure they are level, square, plumb, and in the right size, shape, and location.
- Work accurately and follow national and local building codes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Who You Are:
- Certified Journeyman Carpenter Certification
- Prior experience and ability in using hand and power tools safely.
- Must have basic computer knowledge
Physical requirements:
- Comfortable standing, crouching and kneeling for long periods of time
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials up to 55 lbs. unassisted
- Safely operate all tools.
