We are excited to recruit a Recreational Vehicle (RV) Service Technician/Carpenter to join our team at Bluenose RV Centre. Located in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, we are one of the largest RV dealerships in Atlantic Canada. As the incumbent, you will ensure all vehicles sold and repaired are in the best and safest condition possible. In this role, you will:
Conduct thorough inspections of RVs to identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and **carpentry issues primarily**;
Diagnose and identify issues around appliances, HVAC systems, and electrical components in RVs and advise Shop Foreman accordingly;
Install and upgrade RV accessories and equipment;
Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used;
Conduct motor vehicle inspections (non-motorized RVs only);
Ensure all customers are satisfied with the condition of the vehicle and their ability to understand the basics of how it operates;
Participate in continuous learning to ensure skills are relevant as technology advances; and,

Conduct all responsibilities in a manner that does not create a health and safety hazard to themselves or others.

High school completion;
Post-secondary education in relevant studies (i.e. carpentry, mechanics) will be seen as an asset;
Strong knowledge of RV systems, including plumbing, electrical and HVAC;
Detailed-oriented with a commitment to quality workmanship;
Demonstrated mechanical, electrical, and electronics aptitude;
Motor Vehicle Inspection License;
2 years’ experience working in an RV repair environment is seen as an asset but not required;
Demonstrated proficiency with industrial tools and equipment;
A valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License is essential.

As the incumbent, you will have demonstrated the following competencies in previous roles:
Excellent customer service;
Strong oral communication skills;
Good problem solving and analytical skills; and,

Ability to work independently as well as contribute as a positive team member.

It is expected that you will be required to work in excess of the normal workday and workweek during our peak season of April to November.

This position requires performing physical activities that demand considerable use of arms and legs and moving your whole body. You will frequently be required to climb, lift, balance, walk, and stoop. You must be able to occasionally lift 25-50 pounds.

Pay: $17.00-$35.00 per hour
