**The Opportunity**

Plannera seeks a highly organized and creative communications professional experienced in marketing, media relations to join our Education and Engagement team. You will be part of a team focused on building relationships with external stakeholders, managing media relations, and promoting Plannera’s brand through various public channels.

As a Marketing Consultant on this team, you will:

- create marketing and strategic communications plans to promote awareness of Plannera’s Brand;
- manage public facing marketing materials;
- develop and implement media relations strategies, including responding to media inquiries and preparing key messaging;
- produce written, graphic and video content for multiple channels;
- develop and manage multi-channel communication campaigns; and
- work with assigned branches in Plannera to develop annual plans and tactics to achieve the branch’s goals, specifically our Human Resources and Executive branch to build brand awareness.
- create communication plans and tactics that support Plannera’s brand and goals, including multi-channel campaigns;
- communicate information to a variety of audiences to educate and promote understanding of Plannera, its programs, and services;
- develop traditional, social and digital content including media releases and public relations materials;
- be proactive, organized, and flexible;
- manage multiple projects in a busy work environment while working as a team and independently; and
- develop and maintain positive relationships with Plannera staff, members and stakeholders.

Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be acquired through a degree or diploma in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field of study, plus related work experience.

Related skills and experience considered to be assets are:

- experience in brand management in a professional context;
- experience in media relations, including developing press releases and responding to media inquiries;
- a knowledge of basic graphic design/desktop publishing, (Ideally using Adobe InDesign);
- knowledge of the financial services industry, pension and benefits industry, business, or economics.
