Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington state.

As a Regional Land Representative with Trans Mountain, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a progressive and fast-paced group of professionals in the Land department.
The Regional Land Representative is primarily responsible for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with landowners, land users, and other parties, the negotiation and resolution of various land and right-of-way issues, landowner concerns, and claims; as well as for providing a wide range of real property services relating to the acquisition, development, and disposal of land interests for the Trans Mountain pipelines and their operation. The Regional Land Representative is also key to monitoring land use (zoning, planning, etc.) identifying risks, and mitigating encroachments, incompatible land use, and class change triggers.
The position will operate out of the **Sumas** region, covering from **Abbotsford to Merritt, BC**.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Collaborates with leaders to formulate solutions for landowner and land user problems, concerns, and issues.
- Arranges entry on lands, negotiates, and settles land files (claims, concerns, issues, conflicts, information on respective contractual or statutory rights, and damage prevention issues).
- Communicates, responds to, and anticipates stakeholder concerns, needs, and requests, while maintaining Trans Mountains’ commitments to stakeholders’ milestones and objectives.
- Provides correspondence to stakeholders as necessary for managing the varied land interests held by Trans Mountain, including correspondence with government authorities.
- Directly engages and communicates with landowners and land users regarding project information, damage prevention, or public awareness files and supports the delivery of landowner packages, new landowner engagement procedures, and unauthorized activity documentation.
- Provides advisory services regarding land use to internal and external parties, as well as delivers new land permanent land rights or temporary rights to use land in support of non-routine projects.
- Establishes and maintains lines of communication with field operation staff and external parties such as landowners and government authorities to ensure an effective transfer of knowledge between all stakeholders.
- Investigates information on tenures to both internal and external parties which may result in undertaking other communications as necessary.
**Qualifications and Professional Experience**
- Possess a university-level degree (Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Commerce), a Diploma in Urban Land Economics (BC), a Land Agent License (Alberta), or a minimum of 10 years of equivalent industry experience.
- Hold a valid provincial driver’s license.
- Proven ability to assess claims and manage conflict situations, with a track record of developing effective strategies to resolve issues while fostering positive relationships.
- Collaborative team player with experience working in multi-disciplinary project environments.
- In-depth knowledge of the Canada Energy Regulator (CER) Act, the CER Pipeline Damage Prevention Regulations, BC Energy Regulator/Alberta Energy Regulator legislation and regulations as it pertains to the CER-regulated pipelines and land taking affected Crown lands.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and work efficiently under pressure, with strong time management and problem-solving skills.
