Nature of the work
The position of personnel management consultant within the Human Resources Department entails the performance of the duties pertaining namely to the recruitment, staffing and retention of new employees and assist the HR management team with dossiers pertaining to performance appraisals, accompaniment, and induction.
The position consists of assuming, within its field of competence, a role of advisory services and functional expertise with the administrators of the school board to promote optimal management of human resources.
Description of tasks
- Manage and oversee the recruitment process for the school board.
- Collaborate with administrators to draft job descriptions and in the creation of postings.
- Develop, implement, and manage recruiting activities with external stakeholders.
- Manage employee development and training.
- Ensure welcoming and induction program for new unionized employees.
- Participate in the development of a Career and Succession planning program.
- Participate in formulating policies, programs, standards, rules, and procedures related to recruitment, staffing, and retention of different categories of personnel.
- Ensure the follow-up and monitoring of the implement of such policies, programs, standards, rules, and procedures.
- Coordinate, supervise and evaluate the work of support staff under his responsibility.
- Oversee the employee probation periods Participated in the CNESST prevention dossier.Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study certifying a minimum three-year university program, preferably Human Resources or Industrial Relations, or hold a senior staff position in a school board for which an undergraduate degree is required under the minimum qualifications.
- Two (2) years of relevant experience.

- Fluency in English and French, both oral and written
- Member of CHRP or CRIC order, an asset
- Experience in recruitment and retention, preferably in a unionized environment
- Proven ability to keep abreast of latest trends in recruitment, selection, and retention
- Knowledge of applicable human resources legislation and public policies
- Knowledge of CNESST prevention
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work within deadlines in a meticulous manner, as we as to work autonomously
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google Environment
