**About the position**

ADM Milling Co. is actively searching for a knowledgeable and self-motivated quality control laboratory technician with a food science background to join the team in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This position reports to the Quality & Food Safety Manager. The incumbent will perform routine quality control testing of all incoming raw materials, in process samples, and finished products to ensure the product meet the quality specification, maintain accurate and complete test records, investigate and troubleshoot as problems arise and communicate quality information effectively both internally to the team and externally to the customers when required.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Physical testing of production samples
- Recording and interpreting test results
- Verifying sufficient inventory of testing supplies
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the laboratory environment
- Maintains samples of tested product in order to confirm test results when necessary
- Performs light maintenance and calibration on all ADM laboratory equipment
- Maintains on-going records of the results of all testing procedures and inputs such data into computer on a daily basis
- Maintains adequate supplies used for testing procedures and notifies the supervisor of the need to re-order such supplies
- Continually compares test results with standards as required to insure that all flour is within specification
- All other duties required

**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to multi-task, while prioritizing and coordinating daily tasks
- Possess qualities of motivation, punctuality, and good attendance
- Must be able to work in a team environment and act independently with mínimal supervision
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic PC skills

**Education or Work Experience**
- Must possess a post-secondary education in food chemistry or related field
- Experience with testing cereal grains, AACC methods, Farinograph, Amylograph, Falling Number Machine and NIR are an asset
- Must have working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and other Quality and Food Safety Policies

**Health and Safety**
- Work in accordance with local/provincial legislation
- Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements
- Maintains awareness and adheres to all CFIA, GMPs and employer standards and guidelines
- Handles various chemicals in assorted containers in the manner outlined in the manufacturer’s chemical Material Safety Data Sheet
- Commitment to ADM’s goal of achieving a zero injury culture; understand and follow company safety procedures
