Job Description**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct career assessment and planning for racialized participants seeking career opportunities in the manufacturing sector
- Group workshop facilitation and one-to-one career advising to racialized youth, women and newcomer immigrants and refugees
- Develop individualized training plans and provide resources to support participant goals
- Support in creating curriculum and facilitating soft skills training, employment readiness, and skills for success skills
- Provide job search and on-the-job coaching; assist participants in identifying and overcoming employment barriers, setting realistic career goals, and creating and following action plans
- Conduct participant recruitment such as client intake, needs assessment, eligibility screening, and registration, and making appropriate community service referrals, as needed
- Assist participants with resumes, cover letters, interview preparation, and labour market information and trend research
- Work collaboratively within the community and YWCA to create resource partnerships for referrals and client recruitment
- Attend career-related event management and participation
- Work collaboratively within the broader YWCA ecosystem to ensure the optimization of cross referrals
- Maintain accurate participant records and confidentiality, as per CARF standards
- Report program outcomes to program manager and stakeholders (e.g., funder and YWCA leadership)
- Liaise with other community and external stakeholders to promote and engage issues specific to manufacturing sector employment
- Recruit employers for work experience engagement and round table activities,
- Meet with employers to create training plans and complete paperwork and electronic filing
- Work with program partners on disseminating the findings of the project
- Participate in events/roundtables
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- CCDP certification is considered an asset
- A degree/diploma in a related field or experience in employment/career counselling, social work, job development and/or working with visible minority communities or a combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable and racialized groups
- Keen understanding of issues and barriers faced by youth, women and newcomers to Canada
- Understanding of community resources and wraparound supports available to program participants
- Proven experience in working independently and as part of a team to deliver services
- Excellent computer skills (all Microsoft Applications), SharePoint and OneDrive; Salesforce and LMS knowledge
- Ability to coordinate and deliver meetings on Teams, Zoom video conferencing platform
- Ability to foster strong working relationships with internal staff, various partners and stakeholders to ensure cooperation and effective information flow between programs/departments
- Must be reliable, well-organized, detail-oriented, excellent follow-through skills
- A demonstrated positive attitude towards change and the ability to collaborate and liaison with internal and external partners
- Self-starter: the ability to take initiative, and maintain effective and professional work habits (e.g., prioritize, plan and manage work; punctuality) to produce timely and effective results
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion
- Must be able to work in person during office hours at the YWCA program location; willingness to work at and commute to other YWCA locations in Metro Vancouver on occasion
- A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required to start employment
- Successful applicants are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, exemption requests must be supported by valid, legal documents
