As a **Kitchen Helper/Cook** at **Café le Majestik**, you will play a crucial part in supporting our chefs and ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently. Your responsibilities will include assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and contributing to the overall culinary experience we provide to our customers.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist in food preparation, including chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and portioning meals.
- Wash and peel vegetables and fruit
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, following all health and safety regulations.
- Wash work tables, cupboards and appliances
- Wash and sanitize kitchen utensils, equipment, and surfaces.
- Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers
- Help with stocking supplies and managing inventory.
- Unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, cupboards and other storage areas
- Follow instructions from the head chef and other kitchen staff to prepare dishes according to our café’s standards.
- Assist in plating and garnishing dishes for presentation.
- Support the team during busy service times to ensure timely meal delivery.
- Participate in daily kitchen cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Sweep and mop floors, and perform other duties to assist cook and kitchen staff.

**Qualifications**:

- 1+ year kitchen experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- A passion for food and willingness to learn.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work in a hot and fast-paced environment.

Pay: From $17.20 per hour

**Education**:

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)

**Experience**:

- Safe Food Handling Certificate (required)
- G2/ Full G driver's license (required)
