Custodian/building Service Worker

**Duties**:
Responsible for building security (opening and closing the school)

Performs minor maintenance on doors, windows, lamps, school furniture and other fixtures

Under general direction of the Supervisor, organizes the regular work day and seasonal clean ups.

Monitors and prepares purchase orders for custodial and maintenance supplies as needed

Ensures tools and equipment are in good working order

Follows proper safety rules and standards by ensuring the work site is safe and secure, that equipment is operated according to set standards and the proper and safe handling of hazardous materials (W.H.M.I.S.).

Informs the Supervisor of vandalism

Performs other job related duties as directed by the Supervisor

Sets up chairs/tables for special events

Qualifications and Attributes

Grade 12 or equivalency

Building Service Worker Certificate

Criminal Record Check required

Reading comprehension of written instructions and safety bulletins

Ability to work with the public

Good interpersonal skills and the ability to be an integral part of a team

Must be well-organized

Successful applicant may be required to complete a customized First Aid Course

Understands and is able to carry out new cleaning protocols surrounding Covid-19
