Victoria Contracting & Municipal Maintenance Corporation (VCMMC) is accepting resumes for the position of Parks & Gardens Crew Lead.

The position of the Parks & Gardens Crew Lead requires a minimum of 2 years experience managing a crew of 3-5 staff, plus be able to complete tasks and paperwork on time. Schooling on agronomy/botany and having a basic understanding of irrigation with a desire to continue horticultural education is an asset.

VCMMC provides maintenance services to several municipalities in the Capital Regional District and as such employees may have a diverse range of responsibilities, including but not limited to, the following:

- Leaf blowers, grass/hedge trimmers, etc.
- Experience driving bobcats is an asset
- Use of basic hand tools
- Completing multiple jobs/work orders in a timely manner to meet critical deadlines
- Operate equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant policies and procedures
- Maintain a professional appearance and dealing with the public in a courteous and respectful manner at all times
- Assisting in physical labour tasks as required
- Participating in and recording pre-job safety meeting

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Valid drivers license _(Please indicate any other relevant certifications/licenses you may possess)_
- Ability to safely operate a variety of equipment
- Strong communication skills, specifically the ability to convey information effectively
- Strong listening skills, specifically taking direction and putting them into action
- Exceptional multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Attention to detail regarding paperwork, staff time sheets, work orders and materials tracking
- Work effectively as a team leader and have excellent interpersonal skills

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:
This job is physically demanding and requires working in all weather conditions. The applicant must be able to lift/carry heavy objects and do repetitive tasks. If you have a genuine passion for working in gardens Victoria Contracting offers an enjoyable and challenging work environment.

Wages are competitive and based on a combination of education, knowledge and experience.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $23.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
