Are you enrolled in a Post-Secondary School Journalism Program? Black Music Canada is seeking talented individuals currently enrolled in a Post-Secondary School Journalism Program to join our for a Fall internship.

Do you have a way with words and love sharing your thoughts and writing editorial content on music, concerts and shows? If this sound like you, we want to hear from you

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate closely with the content team to generate high-quality written articles.
- Research and write engaging articles, blog posts, artist features, and other written materials that highlight Canadian Black music, artists, events, and industry news.
- Conduct interviews with Black musicians, producers, industry professionals, and community figures to create insightful and informative content.
- Proofread and edit content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to the organization's tone and style guidelines.
- Assist in brainstorming and generating creative ideas for new content initiatives and campaigns.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to content planning discussions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, news, and events related to Black music and culture.

**Requirements**:

- A genuine passion for music and a commitment to supporting Black artists and communities.
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduation from a journalism, communications, English, or related program, or equivalent experience.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong command of grammar, punctuation, and storytelling.
- A portfolio showcasing your writing skills, ideally with samples of music-related content or articles.
- Strong research skills and the ability to conduct insightful interviews.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Familiarity with digital content trends and social media platforms.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude in generating creative content ideas.
