**Position Details**
As the Logistics Manager your primary responsibility will be focused on:
- **Transportation Management**: Oversee the scheduling and management of transportation logistics, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of materials to and from the yard.
- **Order Processing**: Coordinate and manage the processing of customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timely fulfillment.
- **Shipping and Receiving**: Supervise and improve the shipping and receiving functions, ensuring that all materials are properly checked in and out, and that discrepancies are addressed quickly.
- **Storage and Inventory Management**:Oversee inventory control, including stock levels, rotation, and storage practices to minimize waste, shrinkage, and losses. Maintain inventory accuracy and optimize storage space.
- **Monitoring and Reporting**:Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations, and generate regular reports on inventory levels, order processing times, and delivery performance.
- **Process Improvement**:Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall logistics performance.
- **Team Leadership**:Lead, supervise, and develop logistics team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Provide guidance and support to ensure all team members are trained and equipped to perform their roles effectively.
- **Compliance and Safety**:Ensure that all logistics operations comply with regulatory standards, including safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and company policies.
- **Customer Satisfaction**:Work closely with sales and customer service teams to ensure customer orders are processed efficiently, delivered on time, and meet customer expectations.
**Qualifications**
- **Professional Designation**:A recognized professional designation such as a Certified Professional Logistician (CPL), Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCMP) or equivalent certification is required.
- **Experience**:Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics management, including a background in transportation, order processing, shipping and receiving, inventory management, and process optimization.
- **Industry Knowledge**:Experience in the building materials or lumber industry is preferred but not mandatory.
- **Leadership Skills**:Proven ability to lead and manage teams, with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- **Process Improvement**:Strong experience with identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements in logistics operations.
- **Technology Proficiency**:Familiarity with logistics management software, inventory tracking systems, and other relevant tools.
- **Problem-Solving Skills**:Ability to analyze and solve complex logistics issues, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- **Safety Focus**:In-depth knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to logistics and warehouse operations.
Pay: $100,000.00 per year
