**The Opportunity - Recruitment Specialist, permanent, full-time**
The Recruitment Specialist is responsible for developing and carrying out effective and efficient domestic recruitment strategies based in their assigned markets including the necessary campaigns, events, and other activities to recruit a diverse student body in a manner consistent with the College’s mission and strategic growth plan. This includes: external promotion (high school visits, college & career fairs, presentations and PR events), relationship management (inquiries, high school counselors, parents, key influencers) and the administration and support related to these duties. Additionally, this position is required to support internal outreach (eg. campus visits, campus tours, working with inquiries, telemarketing, etc.) and provide general back-up for the Recruitment and Admissions team.
The role also implements and monitors processes to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and ensures adherence with College enrolment objectives, and relevant recruitment policies, guidelines and procedures. The Recruitment Specialist will be accountable, and manage their assigned recruitment budget, ensuring resources are spent in an economical and effective manner, in accordance with College policies.
**Key Job Functions**:
- Leadership & Supervision_
- Recruitment Specialists are required to participate in the recruitment, selection, supervision, and management of student assistants and ambassadors in compliance with Olds College policies and procedures and any applicable Collective Agreement(s).
- Provides leadership by disseminating information, providing feedback, advising, coaching and team building (including professional development opportunities). Conducts performance reviews in accordance with standard practice and collective agreements; establishes regular check-ins with team and individuals. Initiates and manages disciplinary process, if necessary, within scope of authority and in consultation with People and Culture and in compliance with College policies and standard practices.
- Assigns project work and follows up with the team to ensure quality and timeline adherence. Approves, monitors, and reports vacation and other absences for all staff under the direct supervision.
- Participates in developing and leads in implementation of operational plans of the unit ensuring goals are consistent with mission and vision of the College and contributes to the key components of the College’s strategic enrolment management plan.
Enrolment Management
- Recruitment Specialists work independently within established guidelines, in consultation with the Manager, Recruitment Operations. This position requires initiative, diplomacy, tact, resourcefulness, and sound judgment when representing the College.
- Assess, identify, develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract prospective students, convert prospects to registered students and optimize enrolment to our institution.
- Plan and execute strategies to generate and engage inquiries.Plan, coordinate and represent the College at recruitment events (ELAA high school visits, self-initiated high school visits, CALM classes, fairs, trade shows, etc).
- Develop and deliver engaging presentations to prospective students and other stakeholders, using a variety of delivery methods and tailored to the audience.
- Build and maintain relationships with high school counselors, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote the College and its programs.
- Develop and maintain new pathways and partnerships for recruitment and lead generation, such as dual credit partners, 4H, other post-secondary institutions, etc.
- Manage the recruitment life cycle including brand awareness, lead collection and nurturing, and assist Admissions with conversion to enrolment.
- Lead reviews of business process and operations to ensure efficiency and continual process improvement.
- Prepare reports to support key business decisions and regularly review activities, results and strategies to ensure alignment with College strategic drivers and enrollment goals. Conduct on-going in-depth market research, producing market briefs that will inform decision making for recruitment efforts.
