We are currently seeking **Early Childhood Educators** to join our Educator team in the following roles: - Full-time relief coverage until at least the end of the year, covering an Educator's leave of absence in our Preschool Room; converting to variable relief position after leave of absence coverage is completed - Collaborating with the Educator Team in delivering child-directed, interest-based, responsive programming adapted to meet the needs of a diverse group of children with a wide range of development **About this position**: - Professional Development Opportunities - Compensation based on level of child care certification (note: provincial hourly ECE wage top-up for eligible hours are paid in addition to listed wage, based on level of certification) - Paid sick and vacation time - Any overtime worked is banked and taken as paid time off - Supportive, collaborative team environment - RRSP matching program after 3 months - Access to provincial Professional Development funding towards workshops, conferences, and post-secondary tuition - Considered a frontline healthcare worker for covid-19 related purposes, as we are located inside a hospital **Shift Schedule**: - Monday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm - Tuesday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm - Wednesday 6:30 am to 3:30 pm - Thursday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm - Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm All shifts have a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. **Applicants Must Have**: - Alberta Level 1 Early Childhood Educator Certification (or higher) - Experience working with children under the age of 6 years - Excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken) - Experience dealing with parents/the public - Valid childcare first aid certification - Police security clearance, including vulnerable sector search, dated within the past 6 months; - **Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19**: - Must be willing to follow a respectful, positive, proactive, strengths-based approach to child guidance; - Recognition of the value and importance of open-ended play in children's growth and development - Excellent critical thinking and self-reflection abilities **Strongly Preferred**: - Familiarity with "Play, Participation, and Possibilities: An Early Learning and Child Care Curriculum Framework for Alberta" (recently renamed "**Flight**") is an asset; - Familiarity with the work and philosophy of **Magda Gerber** and/or **Dr. Emmi Pikler** is a strong asset; - Experience with the Pyramid Teaching Model (ASaP) is an asset; - Experience working with children with diverse needs an asset; - Applicants with post-secondary education in Early Learning and Childcare and/or working with children with diverse needs strongly preferred. **Salary**: $15.00-$16.50 per hour **Benefits**: - Flextime - Paid time off - RRSP match Schedule: - 8 hour shift - Day shift - Monday to Friday - No weekends COVID-19 considerations: Mandatory continuous masking for all adults within the building; all employees are fully vaccinated; strict illness policy for children and employees; limited access for non-essential persons.
