**Your Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Chinook Regional Hospital Laboratory Manager, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day leadership of people to ensure completion, safety and operational delivery of clinical lab services. In conjunction with the Manager, is responsible for engaging, motivating, developing and guiding employees as aligned with Alberta Precision Laboratories and department strategies. This position is responsible and accountable for making decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for contributing to the achievement of the goals of Laboratory services for their assigned areas of responsibility.

**Description**:
The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for People Management such as: Addresses general HR items including attendance awareness, privacy investigations, and other investigations as needed; Directly involved in recruitment of in scope staff; Ensures the efficient use of human resources in providing the most effective and efficient delivery of client service/patient care; Involved with payroll and other e-People functions; Evaluates performance of staff, providing commendation or correction when required; Provides direct support to the Site/Department Laboratory technical leaders; Follows applicable human resource policies and applies the appropriate collective agreements. The Clinical Supervisor supports the Quality Management System implemented by Laboratory Services by contributing to accreditation related activities. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for Project Management such as: Oversees implementation of technology (methodologies, equipment and tests) and processes in areas of responsibility that ensures efficiency, patient care, safety, and cost control; Performs advanced problem solving with referral to appropriate level of clinical and technical expertise, identifies trends and patterns, and implements standard practices; The Clinical Supervisor is also responsible for Change Leadership and Strategic Planning.

**Required Qualifications**:
Formal education in a laboratory health care discipline (e.g. Medical Laboratory Technologist, Combined Lab/Xray Technologist, Medical Laboratory Assistant, etc). A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a laboratory role, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Recent supervisory experience (within the last 1-2 years) in a health care setting required.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Demonstrated leadership, conflict resolution, change management skills and /or project management skills. Demonstrated engagement of team members supplemented by strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrated ability to build, foster and maintain professional relationships. Excellent organizational skills and ability to complete tasks accurately within a varied, dynamic environment.
