ACTIVITIES:
The duties and responsibilities for the Laundry Attendant include, but are not limited to the following:

- Collect soiled linens by cart from floors. Sort all articles by type, color and degree of soil. Inspects all laundry and linens and records all damaged and stained items.
- Wash, dry, fold and press laundry daily.
- Treat stains on laundry by using appropriate chemicals.
- Operate washers and dryers according to recommended capacity and other manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Ensure necessary chemicals are added in the correct quantities prior to wash cycles.
- Clean dryers, washing machines and laundry room.
- Perform inventory of linens, towels etc.
- Properly adheres to hotel’s lost and found policies.
- Rotate inventory.
- Inform supervisor of malfunctioning equipment.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Interact courteously with guests.

COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING:

- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
- Able to push and pull carts weighing up to 200lbs regularly throughout shift
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, reaching forward, lifting, stooping and neck wrist and hand movement. Continuous standing for an extended time period
- Flexible attitude to scheduled shifts - the incumbent may need to work nights, weekends and/or holidays
- Flexible and energetic with the ability to work under pressure during busy times
- Literacy skills - reading, writing, and oral
- Outstanding organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Work well independently and in a team environment with minimum supervision
- Self-motivated, honest, creative, capable of working in a team environment
