We are looking for an effective newsroom leader with a creative flair and a strong producing background, who knows how to inspire, train, and lead the newsroom by example.

This is a golden opportunity to build on the foundation of a locally revered news brand and lead programs which will distinguish CHCH News as this country’s foremost local media organization.

The Executive Producer will lead a team of producers, anchors, reporters, videographers and digital content producers. You must have live producing experience with solid writing and showcasing abilities. You must have sound news judgment with the ability to make split second decisions, while effectively managing a team under stressful situations.

The Executive Producer will help develop distinctive multi-platform content that leads the market on air, on mobile and on social media with a strong eye for video and a desire to create something that helps the viewer “feel” the story.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Supervise daily content production on all platforms and the team creating it
- Ensure quality and accuracy in our news
- Manage and co-ordinate the production process for in-house programs on television and online, ensuring the highest level of quality
- Ensure adherence to CHCH’s ethical and journalistic standards
- Effectively communicate with staff during high stress situations
- Participate in department hires and lead the onboarding process
- Manage and develop employees
- Organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments
- Represent CHCH at various community and/or business meetings
- Approve producer and reporter scripts
- Lead special projects as assigned by the News Director
- Lead day-to-day operations in the absence of the News Director
- Take an active role in Health & Safety
- Foster a civil workplace, leading by example
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- At least five years of proven ability to manage and motivate people
- A demonstrably creative vision for multiplatform news
- A strong knowledge of Hamilton/Halton/Niagara news
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Superior organizational and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrable leadership in a live and fluid broadcast environment
- Working knowledge of ENPS and Adobe Premiere Pro is an asset
- This position requires flexible hours to accommodate production schedules
- Able to be on call to be able to respond to staff inquiries and newsroom needs
- Valid Driver’s license

Salary commensurate with experience.
