Residential Cleaner

**Main Purpose of the Job: weekend crew**

The main purpose of a residential cleaner is to ensure that homes are clean, sanitized, and

organized according to the preferences of the homeowner or client. This involves performing

a variety of cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms

and kitchens, and tidying up living spaces. Residential cleaners may also handle tasks like

laundry, changing bed linens, and sometimes even light organizational work. Ultimately, their

goal is to create a clean and comfortable environment for the residents, enhancing both their

physical and mental well-being.

Must be a team player, and able to get along with co-staff, and communicate effectively, with

the main goal of getting the job done properly and in a timely manner.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Familiarize yourself with each customers expectations; effectively take instructions on

the specialized cleaning tasks of each customer
- Understand Sassy Sisters definitions of what a BASIC and DEEP clean entails.
- Clean and sanitize all designated areas.
- Vacuum carpets, rugs, and upholstered furniture.
- Dust surfaces including furniture, shelves, and baseboards.
- Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, and countertops.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and showers.
- Empty trash bins and replace liners as needed.
- Sweep and mop hard floors, ensuring thorough removal of dirt and grime.
- Use appropriate floor cleaners and polishes to maintain cleanliness and shine.
- Pay special attention to high-traffic areas
- Maintain cleanliness in shared spaces
- Clean and organize common areas such as kitchens, break rooms, and conference

rooms.
- Wash dishes, sanitize countertops
- Restock supplies such as paper towels, hand soap, and toilet paper as needed
- Handle special cleaning tasks
- Perform deep cleaning tasks on a rotating basis, such as cleaning refrigerators or

ovens.
- Clean windows, blinds, and curtains to ensure a clear view and remove dust buildup.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling cleaning

chemicals.
- Adhere to safety guidelines for handling and storing cleaning products.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and clients
- Provide regular updates on completed tasks and any issues encountered during

cleaning.
- Follow instructions and special requests from clients regarding specific cleaning

preferences.
- Maintain professionalism and courteous communication at all times.
- Maintain equipment and supplies. Clean vacuums.
- Clean and properly store cleaning equipment after each use.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when replenishment is

needed.
- Ensure equipment is in good working condition and report any malfunctions promptly.
- Handle personal belongings and sensitive information with care and discretion.
- Respect the privacy of clients and refrain from disclosing any confidential information.
- Maintain professionalism and integrity in all interactions while on the job.

**Qualifications**:

- **Must have a Valid class 5 drivers licence**

**-Clean criminal record check**

**-1 year experience in residential cleaning**

**-Able to think on your feet, and be self motivated**

**-Complete WHMIS training prior to first shift (provided by employer)**

**-Ideal : Have up to date First aid emergency training or level 1**

spaces comfortably. Respiratory health is crucial for tolerance to dust and chemicals
