**Full Job Description**

The Summerside Residents Association (SSRA) is a not-for-profit corporation whose purpose is to manage, maintain, and operate the SSRA amenities. The SSRA owns, operates, and maintains a 32-acre lake, 10-acre main park and a 6-acre remote lakeside park, that features beach volleyball courts, tennis courts, picnic area, pleasure skating rink, toboggan hill, Beach Club Building, and maintenance shop/office. SSRA also owns and maintains several acres of paved trails, green spaces, corner features, and community playgrounds. This park is exclusively for the residents of the Lake Summerside community.

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintenance and upkeep of all Summerside Residents Association (SSRA) paths, trails, parks, facilities, buildings, grounds, lake, rinks and amenities.

**Reporting**:The maintenance technician will report to the Parks and Maintenance Manager and Crew Lead.

**Shift**:Sunday - Monday, 40hrs/week

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain summer landscaping: mowing, trimming, planting, weeding, etc.
- Operation and basic maintenance of ride-on lawn mowers, trimmers, push mower
- Operation and maintenance of tractors and side by side
- Basic knowledge of tree care
- Operation of watercraft and basic boat maintenance
- Maintain winter landscaping: snow removal, ice removal, Christmas light installation & removal, etc.
- Rink maintenance and Zamboni operations
- Provide support to programs and events as required
- Enforce all Summerside Residents Association rules and regulations with regards to membership cards, facility/park usage and safety
- Maintain maintenance, vehicle and equipment logs
- Ensure secure facility opening and closing with alarm and lock-up procedures
- Communicate effectively with customer service team and management
- Operate equipment in safe and courteous manner at all times
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Complete all required inspections, reporting, and paperwork in a timely fashion
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in landscaping, parks, and building maintenance are an asset
- Previous experience in ice maintenance and Zamboni operations are an asset
- Be physically fit and able to lift up to 60 lbs
- Valid Alberta Driver’s Licence
- Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised as well as with a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Must enjoy working in a fast paced, challenging and changing work environment
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR Certificate
- Successful completion of a criminal record check
