**Driver Trainer**
**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**
- Training new drivers in the classroom and on the road
- Getting new drivers ready for licensing
- Incident investigations, file management, and reporting
- WCB administration
- Assist with the development of the company’s safety culture and program
- Monitor operations to ensure staff comply with safety rules, policies, procedures, and government regulations
- Plan and present on various topics at staff safety meetings
- Familiarize prospective employees with SOUTHLAND policies
- CRC (Collision Review Committee) road reviews and retraining
- Maintain precise and up-to-date paperwork and time keeping
- Assisting with other roles based on the needs of the company
**Knowledge & Skills Required**
- Class 5 license with S endorsement (or willing to get)
- Excellent driving skills and habits
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Previous experience in school bus operation
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Public speaking and presentation skills
- Occupational Health and Safety Certificate preferred
- Post-secondary education and/or training in leadership or management considered an asset
- Knowledge of (or willingness to learn) busing related safety legislation
**Working Conditions**
The office is located in Humboldt. Typical working hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Full-time Trainers may be required to cover a run if needed.
