We are looking for an individual to join our team as the Product Development Manager. This position will be based in Brampton reporting the President and CEO

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Manage all aspects of Product Development initiatives including execution of new product launches, process improvement, food innovation.
- Work on technical specifications for new products/projects
- Responsible for the Annual R&D Tax Credit submission
- Review packaging for new projects prior to submission: labels, formatting, copy, NFT, cooking instructions etc.
- Conduct product formulations with suppliers.
- Lead Line test at our Manufacturing Plant
- Run weekly product development meetings (working on retail and foodservice projects), continuous follow up to team with updates on all projects.
- Support sales and marketing on customer ideation sessions
- General understanding of government regulations (CFIA).
- NFT: understand Canadian nutritional requirements, follow up with suppliers on getting required info to attain correct NFT’s, keep updated on governmental changes related to NFT’s
- Monitor budget and cost tracing for product development initiates.
- Product cuttings and Bench tests: Arrange for samples, prepare product for cutting, cut product and evaluate, follow up with written results and keep info stored in database for future reference
- Samples: work with procurement, sales and logistics on arranging required samples needed for current or potential projects
- Point of contact with suppliers R&D and marketing for product development
- Point of contact with customer’s PD dept - understanding their needs and ensuring their needs are being met.
- Access customer’s portal/platform to enter information (i.e. specs) and continuously keep information up to date as required by customer

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Food Industry (retail, manufacturing, agriculture)
- Related experience in Food Safety and Quality Assurance is required
- Related Experience in Manufacturing environment an asset
- Related experience in Seafood Industry an asset
- University Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or other related science is required.
- No allergies or food restrictions with consumption of fish and seafood
