Front Office Agent

Carmana Plaza, a hotel located in downtown Vancouver, is offering an exciting career opportunity for a Front Office Agent. We are a unique hybrid of a traditional boutique hotel providing nightly stays in our spacious suites as well as extended stays in our high rise residences.
We are currently searching for a full time Front Office Agent to join our team. As an ambassador of the hotel, the Front Office Agent is responsible for providing first-class guest experience through professional and courteous customer service from the moment guests arrive at the property until they check out.
Some duties and responsibilities will include:
- Providing accurate and timely information to guests about hotel policies, services, and amenities and informing guests about the facilities and services of the property.
- Responding to all guest requests appropriately.
- Remaining alert, friendly, courteous, and helpful to guests and fellow associates at all times.
- Providing a hospitable welcome and experience by greeting guests throughout the day, check-in and check-outs, ensure guest requests are coordinated across departments, logging and delivery of packages, relocating guests as necessary, etc.
- Maintaining accurate guest records, including cash and credit handling, ensuring room rates and tax charges are posted accurately, gift certificate and vouchers, etc.
**Qualifications**
- Completion of a college diploma. Graduation with Tourism/Hospitality Management Diploma or Post-Secondary Degree preferred
- Fluency in English, including excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Available to work shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Good knowledge of the Vancouver, tourist attractions, and attractions, while remaining up to date with special events on and near the property.
- Capable of standing for long periods of time and helping with guest luggage, as required.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles, debit and credit transactions, and various payment methods available to guests is required.
- Ability to work effectively in an innovative, fast-paced, and multi-tasked environment while resolving problems with facts and sound reasoning.
