**Primary Purpose**: As a Culinary Worker, you will support the Culinary Services team as needed. You will be involved in food production, primarily in the Tim Hortons production area, however assisting in all areas of the kitchen as required. Follows procedures as outlined by the Tim Hortons franchise and direction of the Team Leads ensuring standards are met in the areas of food production, quality assurance, safe food handling, workplace safety, cleaning standards, and workplace policy. The incumbent will also participate as an active and supportive member of the Culinary Services group to enhance our students’ experience.

**Typical Duties/Accountabilities**

Duties will include high volume multi-unit production of the Tim Horton’s Always Fresh Baking Program; daily maintenance, use, and sanitation of workstations and kitchen equipment (Hobart mixers, convection and Always Fresh ovens, as well as other kitchen equipment) Rotation of stock; delivery of product to satellite locations. This position will also offer support in all areas of Culinary Services and may include other duties as required.

Demonstrate professionalism and customer service ensuring a positive customer experience; Adhere to departmental standards, policies, procedures and safety requirements conducive to a safe working environment;
Ensure the highest level of Food Safe Handling in approaching work tasks; Sanitation and maintenance of work stations and kitchen equipment; Maintain cleanliness standards in all areas of the kitchen; Assist in other areas of the kitchen as needed; Follow franchise procedures and standards as appropriate; works collaboratively with other staff to ensure seamless customer service, which includes but is not limited to covering sick and vacation time. Treats all confidential information and materials in a confidential manner; Collaborates with others as required to complete assignments and support team efforts.

**Qualifications**
**Education**: The incumbent requires a Grade 12 and a Food Safe Certificate.

**Experience**: A minimum of one year of experience working in a commercial kitchen setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

**Skills**: Ability to consistently demonstrate the ability to focus on cooking tasks and ensuring procedures and standards of food quality are met. Effective communication and organization skills; able to adapt and work calmly in a sometimes fast paced and stressful environment; able to do medium to moderate lifting; able to work independently and with mínimal supervision; must excel in customer service and enjoy working in a University environment.
