**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct daily dog walking services while prioritizing the safety and well-being of each dog.
- Create a positive, fear-free experience during all services by utilizing positive reinforcement, engaging in enrichment activities, and always respecting the dog's comfort level to build and strengthen a trusting bond.
- Observe dogs for signs of distress, anxiety, or reactivity, and adjust approaches as necessary to maintain a safe and enjoyable experience.
- Keep detailed records of each walk and promptly report concerns to management.
- Monitor pets for any signs of illness, injury, or behavioural changes and report concerns promptly.
- Clean up after dogs and dispose of waste properly.
- Handle dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments confidently and safely.
- Respond professionally and promptly to client and management inquiries.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including proper equipment use.

**Requirements**:

- At least **2 years of professional experience working with dogs** (paid or volunteer), with a strong knowledge of canine behaviour, safety, and care techniques.
- Confidence handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments, including those with reactivity, anxiety, and/or other special needs.
- Proficiency in positive reinforcement and fear-free handling techniques.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills.
- Access to a reliable vehicle and the ability to travel to client homes within the HRM area.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and handle dogs of various activity levels.
- Availability to work flexible hours, which may include **daytime, evenings, weekends, and holidays** (including Christmas and New Year’s).
