**Reports to**:Food Service Supervisor

**Qualifications**:

- Experience in quantity food preparation and service
- Familiar with HACCP, WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety
- Safe Food Handling Certificate
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff.
- Ability to follow through on a job from start to finish, troubleshoot, prioritize and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience working with seniors, preferably in a retirement residence or long term care setting.

*Previous experience serving/waitressing an asset
- Clear Criminal Record Check / Vulnerable Persons Sector Screen (dated within 10 months prior to employment start date).
- Provide clear TB skin test results (dated within 14 days prior to start of employment).

**General Duties**:

- Assist Cook with food preparation as required
- Departmental and station cleaning as required
- Take orders and serve food and beverages to residents
- Assist with the monitoring of resident presence and eating habits
- Clear tables, load and operate dishwasher and complete manual washing as require
- Adhere to established policies and procedures

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual, Permanent (4 and 8 hr shifts ranging from 7am to 9pm)

**Salary**: From $15.25 per hour, wage increases after probation and annually
