As the Seasonal Technical Assistant you will perform tasks required for successful development and execution of the City’s Solid Waste Management Programs within the Support Services Branch.

**As the**_Seasonal Technical Assistant_** you will**:

- Assist in the research, planning, development and implementation of waste management policies and diversion and recycling programs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of public engagement activities.
- Perform other related duties consistent with the classification, as required.

**Your education and qualifications include**:

- Successful completion of at least 1 year of a recognized post-secondary program in Environmental Studies, City Planning, Public Administration, Environmental Design, Natural Resource Management, Science, Social Science, Civil/CAD Engineering Technology, or Engineering.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deliver and manage projects in a team-based environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, legal descriptions and plans.
- Ability to carry out project work as directed and to prepare or complete required reports and records.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, external contacts and the public, in accordance with the Respectful Workplace Standard.

**Conditions of employment**:

- The successful applicant must maintain legal eligibility to work in Canada. If the successful applicant possesses a work permit, it is their responsibility to ensure the permit remains valid.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
- Must be physically capable of performing all the duties of this position, which may include, but are not limited to: working outdoors in potentially unfavorable weather conditions or for extended periods of time and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
