**About the University of Toronto Libraries**

The University of Toronto Libraries (UTL) system is the largest academic library in Canada and is ranked in the top five among peer institutions in North America. The system comprises 40 libraries located across three university campuses: St.George, Mississauga, and Scarborough. This diverse and extensive network of college libraries, special collections, and specialized information centres plays a pivotal role in supporting the teaching, scholarly, and research needs of nearly 100,000 students enrolled in a wide array of graduate, professional, and undergraduate programs.

**About the Innis College Library**

The Innis College Library is a small library with specialized collections dedicated primarily to Cinema Studies and Writing & Rhetoric, two academic disciplines housed at Innis. The Library serves as an intimate study space for students, as well as being the primary research hub within the College. The Innis College Librarian functions as a solo librarian and is the first point of contact for the 2,200 students of the College as well as many other students who enroll in programs of study offered by or associated with the College, including the Cinema Studies Institute.

**The Opportunity**

Under the general direction of the Principal, the incumbent will be solely responsible for the management of all administrative, liaison, and procedural functions of the Innis College Library, as well as the supervision and direction of its day-to-day operations and staff. The librarian will work as a liaison with Innis faculty and students and select College staff to enhance the services offered by the library and become a resource hub for the entire College.

- Circulation of library materials, both from within the College Library holdings and the broader UTL system.
- Collection development and maintenance: allocating the Library’s annual budget for building the collection; prioritizing expenditures from among various areas of responsibility within the library; overseeing all aspects of the selection, acquisition, processing, cataloguing, and maintenance of items for an undergraduate and graduate-level Cinema Studies book, serial, and reference collection, as well as smaller collections of books and serials for the Writing & Rhetoric and Innis One Programs.
- Coordination and provision of services to supplement students’ learning within the classroom, working with other staff at the College (including the Writing Centre, Embedded Learning Strategist, Office of Student Life, and the Registrar’s Office) to enhance student learning.
- Being a key member of the College’s leadership team, serving on the Principal’s Advisory Committee (PAC), and also Innis College Council (ICC) and a number of its Boards, including Academic Board and College Affairs Board.
- Computer lab maintenance, in collaboration with the IT Officer.
