**Overview**

SoMuch Security is looking for dedicated and professional Security Guards to join our team for the Millennium Library project. In this role, you will help ensure the safety and security of library staff, visitors, and property.

**Duties**
- Operate and maintain surveillance equipment, including CCTV systems, to ensure comprehensive coverage of the library premises.
- Respond to incidents, enforce rules, and de-escalate situations as needed.
- Provide assistance to visitors and employees while maintaining a professional presence.
- Collaborate with library staff to maintain a welcoming environment for all visitors.
- Monitor and patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
- Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, conducting thorough investigations as necessary.
- Prepare detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and any unusual occurrences.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary for investigations or emergencies.
- Conduct regular inspections of security systems and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.

**Experience**
- Must posses a security licence
- Previous experience in law enforcement or security roles is preferred but not mandatory (on-the-job training will be provided).
- Familiarity with loss prevention techniques is advantageous.
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Physical fitness to perform patrols and stand for extended periods.
- Proficiency in operating CCTV and other surveillance technologies is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective reporting and interaction with others.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in high-pressure situations.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $19.21 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 48 per week
