Our **HEAD OFFICE** is currently seeking a **PURCHASING AGENT** to join our head office team in Victoria, BC. This position involves a variety of administrative duties to support our Purchasing Department.

Compensation package will depend on education and experience.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Placing purchase orders for stock on a monthly rotation
- Placing rush purchase orders daily
- Liaising with suppliers to ensure stock levels are maintained
- Verifying pricing from vendors
- Keeping abreast of changes affecting price and delivery of goods
- Studying sales records and prior transactions
- Maintaining inventory to support branches throughout BC, Alberta & Saskatchewan
- Balancing inventory as required
- Administering supplier promotions
- Maintaining product, price data
- Various other administrative tasks

**Essential**:

- Minimum of one year purchasing experience
- Purchasing courses successfully completed (please outline)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Team player who works well with others
- Superior organization and time management skills
- Able to work to tight deadlines
- Professionalism in dealing with others, both in person and by telephone
- Attention to detail extremely important
