Foreman Assistant

The Foreman Assistant is a full-time position where the successful applicant will work under the direct supervision of the Foreman in the manufacturing shop. Job Duties include, supervising workflow, ensuring projects are communicated to all departments and that they are being completed on time. The Foreman Assistant will perform cab assembly, and other manufacturing duties around the shop as required.

**Job specifications**:
**Education/experience**
- At least 1 year of experience in similar position
- Experience leading a team
- Intermediate knowledge of hand and power tools and general manufacturing processes
- Wood working and sheet metal skills are required
- Experience with laminates, metals, trimming and custom panel assembly
- Thorough understanding of CAD Drawings

**Complexity/analysis**
- Mostly intermediate position
- Ensures measurements are accurate
- Reads and follows CAD drawings
- Ability to multitask in a fast pace environment is a must
- Organizational skills are an asset
- Always follows safe work practices

**Direction received**
- Receives direction from the Foreman to prioritize work and ensure deadlines are met
- Self-starter, hardworking and takes initiative
- Assists other employees if required

**Responsibilities/Accountability**
- Ensure projects are communicated to appropriate departments
- Track workflow to keep jobs on schedule
- Assemble interior elevator walls
- Laminate/glass panel assembly
- Cut, grind, and fit stainless steel and aluminum framework
- Adhere to safe work practices and procedures as well as all other applicable health and safety laws and regulations
- Facilitate the proper handling of chemicals using SDS processes.
- Adhere to Premier Elevator’s policies and procedures
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Time management skills are essential to ensure that material is ready for scheduled work
- Accurate maintenance of production records may be required
- Must handle work with finesse and precision

**Inside/outside relationships**
- Frequent contact with Foreman, management, and other warehouse employees

**Position conditions**
- Largely active position moving between departments in the manufacturing shop
- Work area can be hot and humid during summer season, cold during winter
- Standing and walking, occasional medium to heavy lifting and bending.
- Some evening and weekend work may be required
- Works in dusty/noisy environments at times
- Must wear appropriate PPE

**Salary**: $29.00-$35.00 per hour
