As a Temporary Utility Operator (Labourer) at ATCO Gas, you will be an integral part of our team, ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our natural gas utility systems. This role involves a variety of field and service activities that are fundamental to our operations.

**What You Get to Do**:

- Assist in the installation and maintenance of natural gas utility systems.
- Support the repair of the underground Natural Gas Distribution System.
- Engage in field tasks like hand digging, shoveling, backfilling, site cleanup, and any additional labourer duties.
- Operate vehicles (up to 2 tons), equipment, and small tools.
- Perform meter set maintenance, service shut-offs, and line locating.
- Conduct leak surveys to identify potential underground and aboveground leaks.
- Lift objects weighing up to 50lbs.

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Related experience in the upstream gas utility system, meter reading and AMR devices is desirable.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures pertaining to the gas distribution system is desirable.
- Familiarity with various regulatory codes governing the natural gas industry is desirable.
- Must have a valid Alberta Class “5” driver’s license.
- Ability to interpret plans, working drawings and material specification is desirable.
- Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude and dexterity in the use of tools and equipment.
- May be required to work shift work in operations when necessary and may be called out to assist in emergencies on a 24 hour basis.
- Must be prepared to work in all types of weather.
