DESCRIPTION
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
- Accurately run survey measuring instruments including Global Navigation Software System (GNSS) equipment and robotic total stations to collect quality field survey data.
- Conduct GNSS processing; conventional observation reductions and level reductions.
- Assist with project bidding processes including land reconnaissance, take-offs, grade evaluation and quantification using terrain mapping software.
- During construction, use software such as Civil3D to prepare quantitative grade plans.
- Keep accurate field notes by recording all relevant survey/layout data.
- Attend and participate in planning meetings to help coordinate work between the Construction Manager, Project Engineer, Superintendent, and foremen for each project.
- Coordinate, prepare and submit quantity surveys for progress billing and claim verification purposes.
- Interface with client company survey contractors and resources to ensure all survey and measurement related contract requirements are met and adhered to.
- Other duties as assigned.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- Degree or Diploma in Geomatics Engineering Technology
- 5-7 years of land surveying experience
- Experience and mastery of GPS and modern surveyor’s tools.
- Able to utilize and work with GIS, ESRI, ArcMap, Civil3D and LIDAR platforms.
- Basic math skills.
- A theoretical knowledge of survey engineering and geography.
- Able to survey and layout pipeline field bends.
- Superior field note recording skills
- Certified Land Surveyor
- Supervisory, foreman or party chief experience
LANGUAGES
- Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English.
