Imperial Dade Canada, leading national distributor, has a job open in Montreal. The person occupying this position supervises the Accounts Payable team. This person communicates with suppliers and collaborates with other areas of the organization to ensure that all supplier invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner. The person occupying this position is responsible for the preparation and/or approval of General Ledger journal entries, as well as month-end and year-end closing procedures (including handling of related audit requests), and General Leger account reconciliations. The Accounts Payable Supervisor is required to meet all scheduled monthly financial reporting and tax deadlines, providing appropriate analysis and research as needed.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supervises, directly or indirectly, a team of 10 employees
- Ensures the accurate and timely processing of trade and non-trade vendor invoices
- Ensures pricing or quantity variances are resolved in a timely manner
- Reviews and reconciles vendor statements
- Liaises with other departments (Customer Service, Purchasing, Warehouse, etc.) and responds to vendor inquiries
- Reviews daily transactions to ensure accuracy
- Ensures accurate month
- end, quarter-end and year-end close and addresses audit requests
- Assists with general ledger accounts in assigned accounting area(s), including preparation of supporting schedules, accruals and other journal entries, and reconciliation of account(s)
- Identifies any oversight or process issues and remedies the situation
- Monitors daily workload and adjusts resources as needed
- Develops and implements strategies to improve processes and create efficiencies
- Supervises, trains, and develops team members
- Other special projects as requested

Qualifications:

- Minimum 5 years of Accounts Payable experience, and 3 years in a supervisory role
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent, with understanding of GAAP
- Distribution industry and cost accounting experience a plus
- Excellent leadership & organizational skills
- Bilingual (English and French) required. Employee needs to be able to communicate with the head office, outside vendors, and suppliers etc.
- Must be a self-starter, results driven, and detail-oriented
- Capable of working autonomously in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Positive, outgoing and professional demeanor
- Ability to collaborate and work cooperatively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives
