Once in a career opportunity to join a well established expanding specialized boutique firm for a qualified and licensed lawyer with entrepreneurial drive ready to join a immensely successful disability practice with senior lawyer/founder of 40 years expert experience to give the right person the opportunity to train with and transition in expanded firm to a partner position in multiple locations (Toronto and London, ON). Remuneration is based on salary and vesting with open growth to earn higher earnings immediately and long term.
This role requires excellent negotiation and people skills, proficiency in legal research in a the specialized field of disability law, and the ability to advocate on behalf in clients in an administrative appeal process.

**Duties**
- Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in a specialized area of law.
- Conduct thorough research on legal issues and precedent.
- Draft written submissions through effective drafting and writing succinctly and persuasively.
- Reviewing voluminous claim files including complex medical records, work history and government memos (claim files).
- Prepare for administrative appeals by gathering medical and other evidence including statements and developing case strategies.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain legal options and processes and prepare them for giving evidence at hearings.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact clients’ cases.
- Communicate with with government bureaucracies to advocate effectively and efficiently on behalf of clients.

**Qualifications**
- LL. B. or Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed and admitted to practice in Ontario by the Law Society of Ontario (LSO).
- Strong research skills with experience using legal databases such as Lexis-Nexis.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting submissions.
- Proven negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively for clients.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in a law firm or relevant legal setting is preferred but not required.

Pay: $100,000.00-$135,000.00 per year
