HCM provides a competitive salary structure and starting wage based on previous, related experience. Additionally, HCM provides a Team Achievement Bonus (TAB) paid two times per year; an industry leading Defined Contribution (DC) pension that includes company contributions and company matching; and a comprehensive benefit plan that provides choice and flexibility with the cost subsidized by company contributions. HCM also provides shift premiums paid at 5% per hour up to $1.70 for afternoon shift, and 10% per hour up to $3.40 for the overnight shift.

**Salary Range: $80,532 - $84,770**
Working with our Safety Medical department, the Conditioning Specialist associate is responsible for supporting the health and wellness of associates through proactive engagement, education, and follow-up. This role involves daily interactions with Safety Administrators, Team Leaders, and associates to ensure optimal conditioning and ergonomic practices are maintained.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Daily Check-ins: identify priority items and follow-up on necessary actions.
- New Hire Support: support orientation and integration of new hires by conducting proactive wellness checks
- Associate Follow-ups: Observe and discuss work habits and conditioning with associates, offering guidance on improving body mechanics and overall conditioning
- Preventative Recommendations: Provide associates with stretching and exercise recommendations to prevent injuries and promote wellness.
- Effectiveness Evaluation: Follow up on recommendations within 1-3 days to assess their effectiveness and address any additional concerns.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of observations and information collected during follow-ups
- Information Sharing: Support the department by sharing relevant information and reporting on findings
- Ergo Coach Program: Facilitate the Ergo Coach Program by checking in with Ergo Coaches, gaining insights on workforce conditions, and providing guidance
- Educational Programs: Develop and deliver educational programs and classes focused on injury prevention, healthy choices, fitness, and ergonomics for both production and office associates
- Ergonomic Assessments: Support the assessment of ergonomic risks and the implementation of additional controls as needed
- Professional Conduct: Adhere to the CATA code of conduct (CAT) or Kinesiologist code of ethics (R-Kin) and maintain professional communication with all stakeholders
- Onboarding Support: During onboarding, assist with the Physical Capability Assessment, Production Readiness Experience, and associate placement
**Position Requirements**:
Post-Secondary Science Degree in Kinesiology or equivalent education with a strong understanding of human anatomy, biomechanics and mechanisms of musculoskeletal injuries, with 1-year relevant experience
- Certifications: Holding relevant certifications such as Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Certified Athletic Therapist (CAT©), or Registered Kinesiologist (R-Kin)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Demonstrated expertise in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create, edit, and manage documents, spreadsheets, and presentations efficiently
**Job Related Must Haves**:
- Willing and able to work weekends and or overtime sometimes on short notice
- Willing and able to work shut-down
