The Assembly Production Operator is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient operation of a variety of manufacturing functions. The Operator is required to maintain good housekeeping on the plant floor, removal of excess material and packaging ready for safe storage or disposal.

In addition, he/she is responsible for producing the right quantity and quality of product according to prescribed instructions which could include:

- Mesh seat and back
- Cutting and sewing material according described pattern

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintain high production numbers for daily goals.
- Set up and operate specific machinery and make running adjustments as required. - Follow complex/special packaging instructions.
- Record time, scrap and downtime.
- Produce product with an emphasis on quality and accuracy.
- Complete all assigned quality checks on plastics and mesh fabrics.
- Responsible for keeping work area clean and orderly to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
- Work with hand tools, adhesives and robotics.
- Verify tolerances.
- Conduct preventative maintenance process.
- Maintain any required inspection reports.
- Communicate with Supervisor to resolve quality issues.
- Adhere and comply with legal requirements and ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Health and Safety requirements.
- Participate in training and cross training, improvement initiatives including health and safety and quality improvement.
- Adhere to all workplace safety policies, compliances and regulations.
- Use all required safety equipment and PPE, e.g. Steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses / goggles, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum of 12 months’ experience as a Production Operator or relevant experience elsewhere.
- Experience with routine maintenance operations.
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- Must be very detailed oriented and possess a high level of quality assurance
- Able to work as a functioning member of a team
- Strong work ethic
- Flexible with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts if required.
- Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English or prior experience with relevant equipment elsewhere.
- Commitment to quality and safety.
- Able to work well under time pressure
- This position requires PPE including safety boots/shoes

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Physical ability to lift up to 50lb.
- Manual dexterity required
- PPE may be required, e.g. safety shoes, gloves, masks. etc.
- Overtime as required
