We are looking for a reliable and detail-focused **Prep & Priming Technician** to join our**Production Team. In this role, you'll play a critical part in preparing our steel components for coating - **with a strong focus on sandblasting** to ensure a clean, consistent surface that meets HERD’s high quality standards.

**Position**: Prep & Priming Technician
**Location**: 2168 Springfield Road **_(no bus routes)_**
**Role Type**: Full-time, Evening Shift: Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM - 11:30 PM
**Starting Wage**: $17.00/hour + $1 Premium

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare steel components for coating through cleaning and **sandblasting**.
- Maintain spray guns and blasting equipment according to SOPs.
- Perform visual inspections to ensure coating quality and consistency.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and notify maintenance as needed.
- Track coating parameters and production data accurately.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper PPE and hazardous materials handling.
- Support 5S, continuous improvement, and team development initiatives.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience in sandblasting, coatings, manufacturing, or surface preparation is an asset.
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs. safely and consistently.
- Ability to wear a full face fresh air helmet for the duration of the shift/consistently.
- Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety standards.
- Comfortable working with spray equipment, power tools, and blasting systems.
- A team-oriented mindset with solid communication skills.
- Willingness to participate in training and cross-functional improvement efforts.
