**Quality Assurance Technician - Night Shift**

JOB OVERVIEW

The Quality Assurance Technician provide focus and assistance to the Quality Systems Manager or Quality Systems Lead in the development and implementation of standards and programs to meet all food safety - good manufacturing processes (GMP) and quality requirements; he/she monitors compliance with standards and programs through implementation of an effective verification and audit [including self-inspection] processes;
Identifies continuous improvement strategies and facilitate root cause problem solving in a team environment; works closely with operational groups, corporate compliance and customers to ensure compliance to regulatory, company and customer requirements; and understands the company’s Food Safety & Quality and Health & Safety Policies and act accordingly.

**Job location: 379 Orenda Rd, Brampton, ON L6T 1G6**
**Shift: Night Shift (10 PM to 6 AM - Sunday to Thursday)**
**Hourly rate: ~$21.50 per hour**

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The key areas of responsibilities are the following:
Assist in maintenance of Quality Assurance and Product Quality Programs
- Document and maintain raw material and finished product specifications;
Ensure quality of products released to market meets company standards and customer expectations;
Investigate consumer/customer complaints, facilitate root cause solutions; communicate to cross

functional teams, review complaint reports to identify trends and identify ways to improve food safety

and quality;
Develop training materials and train cross functional teams and employees to support and reinforce

quality standards;
Monitor ingredient quality and process control to optimize performance;
Support R & D initiatives and monitor new product launch, understand and engage in product

improvement/technical services activities, monitor and follow through;
Monitor facility activity to ensure compliance to GMP’s and implementation of QA policies and

procedures are effective; and

Maintain QC/QA documents; policies, procedures and records as required.

9.2.2 Assist in maintenance of Food Safety Programs

Develop and maintain food safety and HACCP pre-requisites programs; compliance to requirements

must be evident via verification and successful 3rd party audits;
Use “Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) approach to identify, mitigate and/or eliminate

potential hazards specific to products and premises with emphasis on sifter tailings and metal

detection;
Develop and execute training materials to support and reinforce GMP’s/HACCP; ensure 100%

completion of food safety training;
Maintain document control and effective follow-up on deviation and corrective actions;
Identify areas of improvement based on self-inspection and audit findings, follow up to ensure gaps

are addressed, adapt procedural changes to eliminate recurrence;
Understand and adhere to private label/food service customer requirements;
Lead role in product recovery, withdrawal and/or recall;
Maintain food safety documents; policies, procedures and records, as required; and

Comply with Wonderbrands Foods Corporate Food Safety Remediation Initiatives

CROSS FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Production Team and Health & Safety
Adherence to manufacturing standards and process controls to ensure consistent product quality;
and
Complies with health & safety programs

Sanitation Team
Ensure “sanitation” activities are performed and documented accordingly.

Maintenance Team
Ensure “maintenance for food safety” activities are performed and documented accordingly
Compliance Regulatory Team
Ensure all product labels meet company and regulatory requirements, inform Compliance of any
Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) related activities/issues.
