**Position: Control Automation Technician**
**Reports To: Production Manager**
**Position summary**
The individual will install, dismantle and/or troubleshoot major and minor machinery, as well as repair and adjust all necessary mechanical components. Work assignments will be received in the form of oral or written work orders, but the employee is expected to determine the nature and extent of needed repairs. Other duties may be assigned as required.
**What you’ll do**
- Inspect, repair and adjust all machinery as needed
- Provide routine maintenance checks and repair any problems as they arise
- Identify and correct any problems found in machines, equipment or processes in order to facilitate production
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times and streamline work processes
- Interpret blueprints and schematics to determine work procedures
- Align machines, equipment and engines during installation, using appropriate tools
- Accurate completion of work orders
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance
- Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
- Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques
- Adhere to workplace safety policies and regulations
- Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries immediately to the supervisor
- Experience in power supply systems (480/277, 240/208/120, and Control AC and DC)
- Remote and field service for other branches
**What you need**
- Must have strong mechanical aptitude, experience as a Millwright or Journeyman Electrician
- Appropriate credentials and certifications
- 3 - 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
- Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics components, Pneumatic components and electrical, including schematics and diagnostics
- Experience with routine maintenance operations
- Able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
- Able to work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- On call work
- Data Entry Skills would be an asset
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lb
- Steel-toed work boots and appropriate clothing to work outside are required, PPE (personal protective equipment) will be provided.
