**Alternate Locations**: This role will be required to travel to all site locations. As well, this role will have the opportunity to work from home (WFH) based on operational requirements.
**Hours**: 35 hours per week which consists of regular business hours with occasional evenings and/or weekend shifts.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director, Innovation & Integration is a key member of the Executive Management Team responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for corporate departments which may include Collection Development, Technology including web services, Capital Planning, Assessment & Research, Marketing and Communications, Program Development and Community Engagement and Development including capital funds. In collaboration with the Director, Customer Experience and the senior management team, this position supports the CEO in leading the evaluation and reporting of the strategic plan objectives.
The Director, Innovation & Integration is responsible for providing leadership in the overall management and delivery of innovative library services, collaborative service implementation through systemwide teams and staff engagement. They lead and coach direct and indirect reports across multiple portfolios. This position also manages the development and implementation of a robust metrics and measurement/assessment process for both public and corporate functions at OPL.

**What you'll do**
**Strategic Leadership**
- As a member of the Executive Management Team, and in collaboration with the Board of Directors, contribute to developing and evaluating OPL’s strategic plan, work plan and objectives, operating and capital budgets, policies, and other strategic initiatives, ensuring effective change leadership and staff engagement processes
- Provide leadership in identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing opportunities for improving or enhancing library service, guiding the development of innovative customer-oriented programs and services
- Collaborate with the Director, Customer Experience in the implementation of new customer experience initiatives focused on improving customer service and experience and/or business processes focused on improving workflow, efficiency, or costs
- Sponsor and champion major system-wide projects, report results and evaluate work plan initiatives as assigned, including leading department managers in implementing and evaluating system-wide goals and annual work plan actions
- Oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of capital projects (including facilities), ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, timely completion, and efficient use of resources
- Support the CEO by acting as a strategic and technical resource in providing information and advice to the Board of Directors, as required and as appropriate
- Work collaboratively across OPL, provide leadership of the overall planning, development, analysis, implementation and strategic management for assigned service areas
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with the Executive Management Team to ensure their needs are understood
- Attend Library Board meetings as required and provide advice and support as required
**Operational Leadership**
- Ensure excellence in the development of services and programs through research and development in support of OPL’s strategic directions and work plan
- Manage large and complex budgets, conducting the financial affairs of the Library within approved budgets and effectively deploying library resources to meet strategic goals and objectives
- Oversee the development and implementation of various departmental strategies including support for capital fund campaigns
- In partnership with the Town of Oakville’s Information Technology Services department, provide strategic and operational leadership and oversight in the development of OPL’s information technology strategy and roadmap, including an effective data governance framework, ongoing maintenance and updating of information systems and infrastructure, and appropriate IT capital budget planning and allocation
**Assessment and Reporting**
- Plan, Assess and Research, ensuring OPL continues to develop, evaluate and measure focused priorities and strategies in an evidence-based approach, providing guidance and leadership of the Library’s metrics and measurement process and framework
