We are seeking a skilled, driven, committed and passionate person to work as our Philanthropy Director within our International Headquarters Office in Burnaby, BC. We are looking for someone who desires to use their skills to make a difference and resonates with Ratanak International's vision, mission and values in serving Cambodia.

**Scheduling and Remuneration**:
**Job Purpose**:
Reporting to, and working closely with the Executive Director, the Philanthropy Director is responsible for advancing Ratanak International’s mission and vision by overseeing strategic fundraising, marketing, communications and donor engagement efforts. This individual will lead and inspire a high-performing team to drive philanthropic growth, foster meaningful relationships with donors and enhance the organization’s brand and public presence.

As part of the Senior leadership Team (SLT), the Philanthropy Director is committed to Ratanak International’s mission, vision and values and ensures philanthropic growth in compliance with regulations, policies and procedures while providing a philanthropic perspective to major organizational discussions and decisions.

**  Primary Objectives**:

- Contributes a philanthropic perspective to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Develops and implements fundraising and donor engagement strategies for corporate, institutional and church donors, for approval by the Executive Director or Board (as required), that achieve annual revenue goals and long-term sustainability.
- Oversees the creation and execution of an annual communication and marketing strategy, as approved by the Executive Director, to ensure consistent branding, ethical storytelling, messaging and public relations.
- Ensures efficient donation processing and acknowledgment, fostering meaningful donor appreciation.
- Leads, supervises and supports the Development and Communications team, cultivating a culture of excellence, collaboration, and creativity.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:

- **Participates as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the Executive Director (Primary Objective #1)**_
- Contributes to strategic planning, risk management, organizational development, change management, problem-solving, and budgeting from a fundraising and communication perspective in SLT and Canadian Staff Director meetings.

 _**Develops and implements fundraising and donor engagement strategies for corporate, institutional and church donors, for approval by the Executive Director or Board (as required), that achieve annual revenue goals and long-term sustainability (Primary Objective #2).**_
- Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates a comprehensive fundraising strategy and donor engagement strategy to achieve annual revenue goals and long-term sustainability.
- Oversees all aspects of annual, monthly, major gifts, corporate, and foundation giving programs, including prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Leads, updates and revises the design and execution of capital campaigns, special appeals, fundraising events and planned giving initiatives, in consultation with the Executive Director.
- Builds and nurtures relationships with major donors, institutions and church partners, ensuring personalized engagement and high-impact stewardship.
- Analyzes fundraising performance and provides regular reports to the Executive Director and, if requested, to the Board of Directors, offering insights and recommendations for growth.
- Develops fundraising and donor engagement policies and protocols that reflect Ratanak’s vision, mission, values and ethical fundraising and donor engagement practices.
- Engages in grant writing.
- **Oversees the creation and execution of an annual communication strategy, as approved by the Executive Director, to ensure consistent branding, ethical storytelling, messaging and public relations (Primary Objective #3).**_
- At the direction of and in consultation with the ED, leads the development and execution of integrated communications and marketing strategies to ensure there is effective branding, messaging and public relations.
- In consultation with the Executive Director, gives strategic direction and approval of content for digital platforms, social media, newsletters, press releases, and annual reports, ensuring alignment with organizational messaging.
- Serves as the organization’s spokesperson when appropriate
