Adi is always looking for the best and brightest to join its growing Construction Management Team. Currently we are looking to find an outstanding student who is passionate about their field of study to join our Adi Construction team on a 4-month co-op term.
Don’t worry, we won’t make you do coffee runs or photocopy. No matter how new or seasoned you are, we treat our team like adults and our interns like full-time employees. You’ll work on real projects, get hands-on experience solving real problems, and be coached by your team members along the way. Adi provides you with the tools you need to be successful, and we trust you to take ownership of your work and make the right decisions.
A successful intern at Adi is someone that isn’t afraid to step out of their comfort zone, whether you’re taking on new tasks or collaborating in our meetings. You are someone that takes initiative to learn beyond what is expected in your field of study and work in an environment where your knowledge and skills can be applied and developed.
Adi started with a small team who didn’t have all the answers and we don’t expect you to either. We’re looking for a student that will show up hungry to learn, be challenged, and make an impact.
**What You’ll Be Doing**:
We will offer you the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment on sites actively being built. You will gain insight into the design and construction of low/mid
- and high-rise residential buildings. You will be exposed to highly experienced design and construction teams and will have an opportunity to learn from the best.
You’ll receive direction and mentorship reporting into a Project Manager. Your tasks may vary, but here are a few of the areas that you’ll get hands-on experience with:
- Estimating
- Scheduling
- Tendering work and preparing Bid analyses
- Attending site meetings, taking minutes, and following up with trades and consultants
- Assist with closeout of projects
- Administration and other tasks as assigned by your supervisor
This opportunity will be of interest to a serious student who sees their career path leading to roles in Construction Management, Project Management and Site Supervision, with the goal of ultimately managing and leading a team of construction professionals.
**What You Bring**:
- Enrolled in a Construction Management, Engineering or Engineering Technology Program in your final year of study
- A collaborative mindset and positive attitude
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Project is an asset
