Lead Health Care Aide

The Lead Health Care Aide shall provide personal care and other services to residents in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Home.
**Shifts Available**:
- 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - 37.5 hours per week (working every second weekend)
**Employment Terms**:
- Must have a Canadian work permit
- Must be bilingual
- Must have a valid Medication Administration Certificate
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provides services and interacts with residents and resident family members in a professional manner
- Complete all assigned paperwork
- Administers medication to the residents as required
- Participates as a member of the care team and provides support to the other members of the Services team
- Observes and adhere to all policies and procedures, work standards and safety regulations
- Assists and attends to the care needs of the residents as required
- Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe and sanitary manner
- Aware of employees' and supervisor’s responsibilities and follows all health and safety policies and procedures
- Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers, and residents
- Is alert to, remedies, and promptly reports all actual or potentially hazardous situations
- Wears personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required by the task, MSDS, or home policy
- Other related duties as assigned

**Education/Experience**:
- Previous experience in providing personal care
- Must have a valid medication administration certificate
- Preferred post-secondary education in related care fields of PSW/HCA/ DSW certification
- Must be able to read and communicate effectively
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors
- Effective interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints
- Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness
- Must be able to operate related equipment
- Must be able to respond to emergency situations
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift and carry heavy items
