Maintenance Worker

**Job Overview**
Reporting to the Recreation Director and the Recreation Board, the Recreation Maintenance employee is responsible for the safe and effective performance of a variety of public maintenance tasks with regard to the operation and maintenance of recreation facilities and parks. This is accomplised through the use of a variety of equipment including mowers, bobcats, backhoe, hand tools and other equipment.

**Key Responsibilities**

Under the direction and supervision of the Recreation Director and Recreation Board:

- Maintain and operate all of the Town of Lampman and R.M. of Browning No. 34 owned parks and recreation facilities. This includes: skating rink, curling rink, swimming pool, sports grounds, ball diamonds, campground and golf course.
- Ice maintenance and ice cleaning which includes operation and maintenance of Zamboni;
- Plan and deliver all end-of-season facility closures and beginning of seasonal operationsal checks.
- Perform general maintenance activities in accordance with the Town of Lampman & R.M. of Browning No. 34 policies and procedures;
- Perform repetitive and physically demanding work as directed by the Recreation Director;
- Safely and efficiently operate a variety of power hand tools, skid steer and other equipment and vehicles;
- Maintain all vehicles and equipment according to the schedule;
- Maintain a log of daily activities;
- Clearing recreation areas of debris and snow removal around entrances, exits and parking lots;
- Perform basic repairs to buildings, machines and grounds, where appropriate;
- Maintain and neat and safe workshop environment;
- Be willing to acquire and upgrade skills as requestions by the Recreation Board and Director;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**Academic and Professional Qualifications**
- High school diploma

A certificate for the following is an asset:

- Standard First Aid
- Confined Space Entry
- WHMIS - three year expiry
- Boiler Certificate
- Pool Operator's Certificate
- Arena Operator's Certificate
- Refrigeration Plant Operator's Certificate
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence is required

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Lampman, SK S0C 1N0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Facilities maintenance: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Class 5 Licence (required)
